December 23, 1953 - Bob Brookhart & Glen Kaiser opened B&K at 110 So. 7th. In Salina Kansas. - Bob was a Pharmaceutical representative for Parke Davis and Glen a Pharmaceutical representative for Squibb Pharmaceuticals.

1964 - Galen Z Morris was employed - Amy Rasher's store was bought out and she was employed.

1968 - Galen Morris purchased a share of B & K

October 14, 1968 - A. Jeffrey Denton RPh was employed.

1969 - B & K Apothecary Shop was started at 600 So. Santa Fe. - The Medical Equipment (DME) business was started. - A. Jeffrey Denton became a partner.

1972 - The Apotek was opened in Lindsborg, Kansas. - B&K filled its 1,000,000th prescription.

1973 - Jim Copple RPh purchased 50% of Apotek and become a partner at that store.

1977 - B&K purchased a share of Trapp Pharmacy, 204 No Cedar, Abilene, Kansas and Trapp Clinic Pharmacy. B&K became a partner with John O. Trapp.

January 1, 1978 - B & K Prescription Shop and the Apothecary Shop combined in one store at 601 E. Iron, Salina, Kansas, a  former filling station that was remodeled.

June 1978 -Lawrence E Shaw RPh was employed.

June 1981 - The 1st addition was built to the building, doubling its size.

July 1, 1983 - John Trapp sold his share of Trapp pharmacy to Leonard G. Schmitz RPh. B&K became partners with Leonard.

January 1, 1984 - Lawrence E. Shaw RPh became a partner.

Summer 1984 - The building behind B&K was purchased, remodeled, and connected to the B&K building. The Oxygen usiness was started.

July 1, 1984 - B & K was incorporated. The stockholders were Galen Z. Morris RPh, A. Jeffrey Denton RPh, and Lawrence E. Shaw Jr RPh.

1985 - B & K Medical Access  was formed.

July 1989 - B & K and Morriss Pharmacies merged. Morriss pharmacy on south 9th was closed and Rex Morriss was employed at B&K.

May 1, 1991 - B & K purchased Low's Pharmacy prescription files and prescription merchandise.  Ron Schmitz RPh was employed at B&K.

October 1994 - Medical Park Home Equipment in Great Bend was formed in Partnership with Rich Bieber

April 1998 - BKRX website was formed

Fall 1998 - A new addition of 2200 sq ft was completed.

January 2001 - Jennifer Weir RPh & Don Atwill RPh were employed.

April 2003 - Don Atwill RPh became a stockholder

December 2003 – Celebrate 50^th  year in business.

September 2003 -- Renee Atwill RPh was employeed

January 2007 --  B&K Medical of Hutchinson was opened in Hutchinson Kansas providing medical equipent and Oxygen to the Hutchinson Area.

July 2007  -- Heather Ebert PharmD was employed.

Jeff graduated from Emporia Roosevelt High School in 1960 and from Kansas University School of Pharmacy in 1965. He moved to Salina and was employeed at B&K in 1968.  He became a partner in 1972.  His duties include helping in the pharmacy and with the help of the the office manager and the general manager manging the business of B&K. He is always ready to help.

Larry graduated from Salina Central High School in 1974 and Kansas University School of Pharmacy in 1978.  He was employed in 1978 and became a partner in 1983. He now is Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) of B&K. His duties include managing the pharmacy department, ordering pharmaceuticals, and developing policies for the Pharmacy.

Don graduated from Smith Center High school in 1974 and Kansas University School of Pharmacy in 1979.  He was employed at B&K in 2001 and became a partner in 2003.  His duties include filling and dispensing prescriptions, ordering prescription and OTC medications, and  managing inventory control of the Pharmacy.  His wife Renee is also employed at B&K as a Pharmacist

Heather graduated from Salina South High School in 2001 and she graduated from Kansas University School of Pharmacy in May 2007.  She was married in June 2007, and was employed in July 2007.  Heather would be happy to answer any of your questions concerning your medications.

Renee is a Kansas Native from Hutchinson and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1974.  She graduated from the KU School of pharmacy in 1981 and is an avid KU fan.  She is always ready and willing to talk to you and answer your questions regarding your medications. Her husband Don is also a pharmacist at B&K.

Adam is our newest Pharmacist.  He graduated from Salina South High School in 2000.  He received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Fort Hays State University in 2004 and then continued on to KU School of Pharmacy where he earned his pharmacy degree in 2008.  Adam would be happy to answer any of your questions concerning your medications.

John has been employed at B&K since 2000 as a part time pharmacist..  He works most evenings and weekends.  He will be happy to answer your questions concerning your medications.

Meet Leroy.  He has worked at B&K since 2000.  He received his degree in respiratory therapy while at B&K.  Besides being one of our respiratory therapists. He is our general manager, as well as manager of our Great Bend and Hutchinson loacations. Leroy will be happy to help you with all of your needs.

Linda has been employed at B&K since 1986. Linda is responsible for daily bookkeeping, accounts payable & accounts receivable,as well as personnel managemanet. She keeps B&K running smoothly. To meet Linda,stop by the B&K office.

Amelia graduated from Salina South High School in 1989 and the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, in Orthotics and Prosthetics in 1994. She worked at  Duke University Medical Center in North Carolina for several years before practicing in Wichita, Kansas.  She has been at B&K since 2004 and makes artificial limbs and braces for the limbs and spine.

Debbie has been employed with B&K since 1974.  She is experienced in many aspects of the business with her primary focus being insurance for both the Home Medical Equipment side as well as the Pharmacy.  If you have questions she has answers! Debbie works with both patients and customers regarding health insurance questions and concerns.

Tonya has worked at B&K since November 2005.  A few of her responsibilities include filling prescriptions, maintaining inventory control, working out insurance issues and her love of compounding medications!

Lois has worked as a pharmacy technician at B&K since September 1999.  Lois's responsibilities include calling or faxing doctors for refills and new prescriptions, handling insurance issues and entering prescriptions and helping to maintain and stock the robot.  Lois is very congenial and would be happy to answer your questions and help you.  Give her a call.

Shirley has been working in the Respiratory Department at B&K since 2000. She became a registered respiratory therapist in 1979. Shirley also has a Mastectomy fitting certification.

Denise has worked at B&K since 1999. She is a Licensed Practical Nurse & also a certified Mastectomy fitter. Denise's job is home oxygen, nebulizers, CPAP and laryngectomy supplies
